I don't have issues with any other game in this way but a couple of games I have don't work.
Is it possible the 'Memory Card' file could be corrupt in some way? I do have some issues with memory cards that I'm unsure of. As the saved game loads, Dolphin then crashes. Does anyone else have this issue or any idea why it wouldn't be working? Btw, when I say the game doesn't load, what I mean is that it loads the title, you press the Start button, choose Save slot A by moving Mario left and Jumping. It used to show an error with possible causes, but now just show a popup window saying Dolphin.exe has stopped working. But since updating Dolphin, though I can't now be sure from which dev build, possibly v4.0-3919, it won't load and Dolphin just crashes. Then extract it to a folder, move your All Stars NSP to the same folder, rename it to game.nsp, and double-click extract.bat.ĭata miners and modders are currently working to dissecting Mario 3D collection to add more N64/GC/Wii games cuz nintendo are using in-house emulator for this release.I've been playing this game for months on a new build without issues, it even played on my old laptop, though with a fair amount of slowdown. I'd love to upload these files but I'm pretty sure that technically counts as piracy.ĮDIT 2: A lot of people were having trouble extracting the Sunshine ROM from the NSP, so I wrote a batch file to make it easier.
Unfortunately I can't figure out how these hashes are derived, but I'm sure someone smarter than me will. They would probably have to be modified for different roms. Rom.json and Super_Mario_Sunshine_Stardust-trimmed.hash: these files, together, contain 4 different hashes for the ROM. Contains lots of emu settings, most of which I don't understand. nfig: this seems to be the config file for the emulator. Personally, I'm hoping that we can eventually swap out that ROM and play other Gamecube games on the Switch! Not sure if this information is already available (it probably is), but I decided to post this here so that we can discuss it. This would also explain the ROM's small file size.
Interestingly, cutscenes don't display at all, although their audio plays, which makes me think that they must be stored separately in the romfs. As you can see, its title ID is GMSP01, and it runs in widescreen out of the box. Here's the ROM running in Dolphin on my laptop. I decided to try running this ROM in Dolphin, expecting it to not work due to being in some kind of proprietary format to my surprise though, it actually worked! (This was my first time doing this btw.) I discovered that, within the "" file, there is a ~300 MB ROM of Super Mario Sunshine called "Super_Mario_Sunshine_Stardust-trimmed.gcm".
After discovering that 3D All Stars uses emulation, I really wanted to extract the game's romfs and see how it works myself.
